LAS Meeting September 18th
The Longmont Astronomical Society will meet 7 to 9 pm in the Community Room (Rm #1480-82) at the Front Range Community College, 2190 MillerDrive, Longmont, CO on Sept. 18, 2008. The speaker will be Dr. John Spencer from the Department of Space Sciences, Southwest Research Institute.
Dr. Spencer will give a presentation about the Cassini Spacecraft and its investigation of Saturn's fascinating moon Enceladus. John is a member of the Composite Infrared Spectrometer (CIRS) Cassini science team and is a leading researcher engaged in analyzing the measurements of the geyser-like eruptions near the south pole of Enceladus.
